A gold mill north of La Ronge has resumed operations following an accident that left a contract worker trapped between rocks for several hours.

The accident happened Tuesday morning, at Golden Band Resources’ Jolu mill, located about 130 kilometres north of La Ronge.

Rocky Arsenault, 61, from Carrot River was not injured when he was buried waste deep in ore in the mill's crushing room.

Operations were suspended following the incident, and a thorough investigation was conducted by the company and its contractor.

The company did not release the findings of their investigation, nor what caused the miner to become trapped.

The project had been in production for about a month when the accident occurred.
