Sixteen swimmers represented the Prince Albert Sharks Swim Club recently at the Regina Optimist Dolphins Winter Invitational Meet. This was a 3 day event attended by 13 clubs from around Saskatchewan and included events from the 50 metre “Dash for Cash” to the much longer 1500 metre freestyle.

PA Sharks swimmers competed in every stroke and distance over the weekend and were successful in achieving 23 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, and 146 “top 8” swims out of 185 swims.

Swimmers achieved 18 new “A” Provincial time standards over the weekend and 14 new “AA” time standards. This means more swimmers can attend the upcoming “A” provincial Championships held in Prince Albert on 4-6th February, and the Mans-Sask (AA) Championships held in Saskatoon on 17-19th March.

Senior swimmer Danielle Lyons also achieved a new qualifying standard for the Western Canada championships. She will join Scott Mills in representing the PA Sharks in Kamloops, BC next month.
