Reed stops in PA to support Special Olympics

CFL running back legend George Reed was at the Prince Albert Raider game on Wednesday.

He was there shaking hands and raffling some memorabilia for fans.

More importantly, he was there to raise money and get volunteers to sign up for the Saskatchewan Special Olympics.

Reed's been strongly involved with Special Olympics in the province since it started.

He said it's all about providing the joy of sportsmanship to as many people as possible.

“I think it's always great to give all the people an opportunity to participate and enjoy one another and that's what I get my thrill from, just watching the enjoyment they receive,” he said.

In February, Prince Albert will be hosting several qualifying events for the national games next year.
