Sports stories of 2010, #1 Raider hockey celebrates 40 years
On Dec. 11, the Prince Albert Raiders franchise recognized their past by celebrating the 40th anniversary of their first game.
The Raiders beat the Regina Pat Blues on December 12, 1971. It was the first game played at the rink that's since been renamed the Art Hauser Centre.
Players from the Centennial and Memorial cup teams were honoured. Legendary Coach Terry Simpson was also on hand.
Alumni Brad Bennett carried the 1985 Memorial cup to center ice.
