Lingenfelter prepares for election year

A poll showing just 16 per cent support for Dwain Lingenfelter to become premier is probably not the way the NDP leader wanted to end 2010.

But in his year-end interview, he says the fight isn't over yet.

He points out the government is still, in his opinion, failing when it comes to the economy, rural doctor shortage and the cost of living.

The NDP, he argues, need to show they can offer the alternatives.

As for preparing for the vote next year, Lingenfelter feels the party is ready with membership numbers up and an ongoing policy renewal.

“I think we are much better prepared for the next election and not getting credit for that yet, becuase those are some of the building blocks that people don't see,” he said.

Lingenfelter insists he doesn't worry about poll numbers that represent just a small number of people.

He instead argues between now and November anything can happen.
