One City One Book—Everyone is reading

The Brutal Heart by Gail Bowen!

Mayor Jim Scarrow, the Prince Albert Literacy Network and the library are excited to sponsor Prince Albert’s first-ever One City One Book— The Brutal Heart by popular Saskatchewan author Gail Bowen!

The purpose of One City One Book is to promote literacy and build community as we read and discuss the same book this winter.  Similar events are held yearly in communities throughout North America.  You’re invited to read The Brutal Heart—a library copy, your own copy, a friend’s—and then join in the activities.

The library is hosting a number of events.   The  Mystery Movie Night series features six movies based on Gail Bowen’s popular Joanne Kilbourn books.  A Book Club Discussion Group will meet—city book clubs and all interested readers are welcome to join in a lively conversation about The Brutal Heart!  Watch future issues of Cuelenaere Contact for more One City One Book news!
