A Leadership Workshop

Are you interested in building your leadership skills to contribute tosport and physical activity in your community?

Are you passionate about participation and want toshare this passion with others?

This event is for you!

The Building On Our Strengths workshop, designed by and for Aboriginal women, will provide an opportunity for women working or volunteering in the sport, recreation, health and education fields to share their experiences, reflect on ideas, and develop their leadership skills. Discussion will focus on how to improve community sport and physical activity for Aboriginal girls and women.

When:        1-4 pm FRIDAY, JANUARY 28TH 2011 *Refreshments will be provided

About the Workshop Facilitator:

Cross-country skier Colette Bourgonje has participated in all six Paralympic Winter Games as well as wheel-chair racing in three Summer Games in her phenomenal career so far, with a collection of eight medals to prove it.  On top of being nominated as Saskatchewan Female Athlete of the Year in 1999 Colette was inducted to the Saskatoon Sport Hall of Fame in 1998 and she was chosen Saskatoon’s Athlete of the year in 1996.She has worked 15 years with the Saskatoon Public School Division teaching students in various grade levels. Hailing from the small town of Porcupine Plain in north east Saskatchewan, Colette now lives just outside of Prince Albert Saskatchewan.
