Saskatoon Police on the hunt for rapist

Dec 13, 2010 | 10:03 PM

Saskatoon Police hope the release of a composite sketch will help bring a rapist to justice.

The drawing shows a man who, police believe, was behind a sexual assault which occurred near St. Paul’s Hospital.

The attack happened on Monday, August 16th near Avenue R and 20th street west.

A 17 year old girl was walking down the street when a man approached her, struck her, then dragged her into an alley and sexually assaulted her. The victim only recently reported the crime to police.

The suspect is thought to be an Aboriginal man between 40 and 50 years of age, approximately six foot one in height, with a moustache and goatee and a long braid.

He also has a distinctive two inch scar on the left side of his neck.

At the time of the attack he was wearing a torn jacket (possibly black leather) with an eagle on the back, jeans and black shoes.

Anyone with information on this incident is asked to call Saskatoon Police at 975-8300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
