Memorial held for woman killed by drunk driver

Family members fought back tears as they stood at site where Tammy Stene-Arcand died.

They held a vigil yesterday. It was exactly one year after the taxi Stene-Arcand was riding in was struck by a drunk driver, killing her.

Family and friends huddled tightly to try and stay warm in the extreme cold.

They brought roses to lay at site with a candle and memorial card. As the service went on the flowers wilted and leaves were falling off due to the temperature outside.

As family and friends prepared to leave, Stene-Arcand’s husband fought back tears as he said, if losing her has taught them anything, it is to not drink and drive.
