Health region looking for changes in new year

Dec 3, 2010 | 5:48 PM

A health region is responding after Saskatchewan’s auditor’s report said their medical equipment wasn’t adequately maintained.

“We certainly knew we had shortcomings in recording and record keeping in the preventative maintenance of our equipment,” said Glen Kozak, CEO of the Kelsey Trail Health Region

They don’t yet have a system in place for biomedical equipment maintenance, but Kozak said they hope to have the new system in place by January.

Smaller health regions around the province have taken longer than larger centre, to get the computerized systems in place.
