Terri Clark on stage in Prince Albert

Nov 23, 2010 | 5:30 PM

Multi-platinum selling artist Terri Clark is coming to Prince Albert.

It’s a double showing of Canadian country singers at the Art Hauser Centre with special guest Shane Yellowbird, winner of the 2007 Aboriginal People’s Choice Music Awards Entertainer of the Year.

This is the only Saskatchewan stop for Clark on her 2010 tour. While she is an extremely successful artist in both Canada and the U.S., Clark remains focused on her passion for music.

“Right now I think it’s more about making good music for me and less about numbers and awards and things like that,” said Clark.

“I’d be lying to say it doesn’t feel good to win an award, but it’s about connecting with the audience, writing songs that speak to me and other people.”

Clark said she has an approach to making her music that connects to her fans.

“A lot of times, if I really relate to something, than other people will too. It’s about coming from a really authentic, true and genuine place.”

While Nashville is currently where Clark calls home, she said it’s not a place where she can get away from work and that’s one reason why she loves coming back to Canada.

“You know, it’s nice to be able to escape that kind of thing once in a while and when I come back home and I’m around my family and friends I grew up with and things like that, I can just be myself,” she said.

The live concert is at the Art Hauser Center on Nov. 25.
Tickets are $49.50 and $59.50.
