UPDATE: Lawn chair was actually unsecured bucket seat
The RCMP are changing the information they gave in a release yesterday about arresting a man who using a lawn chair as a seat in the vehicle while driving intoxicated.
RCMP are now reporting that while the man was driving under the influence, he was not driving in a lawn chair.
Sgt. Ron McRae with the RCMP explains how there was a mix up.
“The driver’s seat is broken away from the floor of the car and bent backwards, and the back of the seat is also bent backwards, so the driver was driving in a highly inclined position,” said McRae.
Due to how dark it was outside at the time, the officers mistook the chair for a lawn chair. But when checking the car out today at the impound lot, they realized their mistake.
