Saskatchewan Roughriders expect another great battle with the Calgary Stampeders

The Saskatchewan Roughriders look to continue its winning playoff ways over the Calgary Stampeders as the team prepare for this Sunday's West final at McMahon Stadium.

Calgary has lost the last four playoff games against the Riders, including last year's West final.

It's been 16 years since (Nov.13,1994 when) Calgary beat Saskatchewan in the post season. All of that is thrown out the window now with a new year and a new team.

Defensive end Brent Hawkins says fans can expect an all out battle that will likely come down tho the final whistle.

“It might go down to two overtimes again,” said Hawkins. “I'm sure they'll play balls to the wall, we will too. We'll come out there and give it 125 per cent, as they will too. I'm sure everybody in Canada is in for a hell of game.”

Luc Mullinder expects another classic game.

“I can't wait,” said Mullinder. “I know (the Stampeders) were over there watching and are going to give it their best effort and I know they're going to be fresh. But I think they know we're coming and it's going to be one hell of a game.  I think it was meant to be with these two teams.”

The only thing the Stampeders have going for them is that they took two of three games this year from Saskatchewan, including the only game at McMahon Stadium, 44-20 in Week Four.

But that's all in the past.

All that matters is which team is able to come out victorious this Sunday, moving on to the Grey Cup.
