A new community website was launched in Prince Albert on Tuesday with much fanfare.

“It’s come together just as we would have expected, we have a great, talented team, a great site and we’re ready to go,” said Karl Johnston, general manager of Rawlco Radio in Prince Albert.

Community leaders and newsmakers attended the launch of Prince Albert’s newest media.

“We’ve created a go-to website for everything community, everything Prince Albert, lots of news, free classified, a great movie section. There’s really something for everyone we think. Just go and explore it,” said Johnston.

“Most communities the size of P.A. or larger have hyper-local websites and we looked at Prince Albert and saw a wide-opening, no one was doing it.”

Johnston describes paNOW.com as a website featuring everything Prince Albert. He said the site features local news, sports, weather and road information along with free classifieds, movie information and sections devoted to community news and upcoming events.

“Over 100 communities groups in our community sections and I would suggest we have the most complete events section if you are looking to find out what’s going on in Prince Albert,” he said.

Along with being devoted to serving the community of Prince Albert, the site looks for community participation through email, polls and feedback such as the shoutbox.

paNOW was created by Rawlco Radio, the team behind local radio stations 900 CKBI, Power 99fm and Mix 101fm.

At a time when other media are reducing service and staffing levels, Rawlco’s expanded commitment to Prince Albert has resulted in the creation of 10 new positions, pushing Rawlco’s employment in Prince Albert to more than 50.
