Missing man last seen in Prince Albert

RCMP are hoping a recent lead proves fruitful in the search for 84-year-old Victor Mateyshin who went missing from Dana, Sask. on Sept. 16.

The RCMP said they’ve received a tip that Mateyshin may have last been seen at the Prince Albert Wal-Mart on Sept. 18.

Police have a still photograph from surveillance footage from the store, but say it would be impossible to positively identify the man from the low quality image. However, they’re hoping that by putting the information out there more leads will be generated.

Police have been leading an intense search for the man, which has included the use of air units and support from RCMP detachments across the province.

They’ve received dozens of tips and sightings but have so far been unsuccessful in locating the man.
Police said, Mateyshin has a distinctive walk with a limp that is so severe he is essentially swaying side to side to walk.
