Crash near Saskatoon landfill leaves one person dead

A three-car pileup near the Saskatoon landfill claimed a life Saturday evening.

The crash happened on Valley Road near Dundonald Avenue in southwest Saskatoon at about 6 p.m. Saturday.

Police say one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two others had to be cut out of the wreckage by fire crews. The survivors were taken to hospital, but there are no details on the extent of their injuries.

No names are being released right now.

Collision analysts are working to figure out what caused the crash.
