A 20-year-old man has died after his SUV hit a tractor trailer on Highway 16 just west of Colonsay Friday night.

It happened around 7:30 p.m., when the northbound SUV came onto the highway from a grid road. The southbound SUV was struck broadside by the tractor trailer that was loaded with lumber.

“(The man) was only the one occupant in the SUV. The driver of the tractor-trailer unit again was just a lone occupant, and he did not have any injuries as a result of the collision,” said RCMP Cpl. Gary Bonneau.

The man was rushed to Saskatoon's Royal University Hospita by EMSl, where he later died.
