Nov 2, 2010 | 5:27 PM

The teenager charged with assaulting a Prince Albert cab driver will start his trial on Wednesday.

It is alleged that on April 23, the 14-year-old boy used a machete to assault a Checker Taxi driver when he attempted to help the youth with his seatbelt.

The attack left the driver with more than 100 stitches and several lost teeth. Afterwards, Checker Taxi installed shields into several of their vehicles to protect drivers.

The teen has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault.
