The Aboriginal Youth Support Worker assists Aboriginal youth ages 15-24 by providing guidance, counselling and developing strategies with youth to encourage participation in suitable education, employment, recreational and cultural programs.
 

About the program:

The Aboriginal Youth Support program provides ongoing support to youth including those residing at the YWCA, youth in the 16/17 Program and youth in the Young Offender Program.

Support includes.
* Curfew monitoring
* Daily wake ups
* Assistance with booking appointments
* Referrals to all community resorces
* Transportation to and from school and appointments
* Assistance in enrolling in education
* Access to and assisting with enrollment in cultural and/or recreational programming
* One on one informal counselling
* Grocery shopping
* Budgeting
* Any personal arrangements necessary
* Aboriginal cultural activities
* Intergrative case management
* Support in the court system
