SaskTel and SaskPower customers targeted by phone scam

The latest phone scam in Saskatchewan is targeting SaskTel and SaskPower customers.
An operator claiming to be from either crown corporation tries to convince people that they've won a free prize, and to press the “1” key for more details.
Andy Tate with SaskTel says people should simply hang up.
“Apparently when people press one, they may be asked for credit card information or banking information and unfortunately that is a scam,” said Tate.
Tate reminds customers that neither SaskTel nor SaskPower would ever offer prizes over the phone.
He also says it's a good idea to report the call to Phonebusters at 1-888-495-8501 and the National Do Not Call list at 1-866-580-3625.
