Throne speech deals with many issues
Affordable housing, more addictions spaces, supporting high performance athletes and a national advertising campaign about Saskatchewan are just some of the initiatives outlined in the throne speech delivered Wednesday afternoon.
The throne speech also explains some legislation the government intends to introduce.
Monitoring inmates’ phone calls will be the focus of one piece of legislation the government wants to see passed. It also will bring forward legislation that requires voters in provincial and municipal elections to produce photo ID.
Of course, potash will be part of the fall legislative session. The government said it intends to introduce a resolution calling on the federal government to ban BHP Billiton's takeover of PotashCorp.
