BHP Billiton looking to boost trust in company

Oct 25, 2010 | 4:17 PM

Premier Brad Wall is taking his decision not to support BHP Billiton's bid for PotashCorp on the road — and he wants everyone to know the reasons why.

Many have said his decision has left Saskatchewan closed to business, but Wall maintains that is not the case and there are examples out there to prove that.

Back in July 2008, former BHP Chairman Don Argus was quoted in the Hellenic Shipping News saying that Australia should protect its natural resources, otherwise it might become “like Canada, a branch office”.

Wall contends that comment proves you can have it both ways.
