Saskatchewan Crown lawyer Matt Miazga has been awarded the Courage and Perseverance Award from the Federal-Provincial-Territorial Heads of Prosecutions Committee.
It's been nearly a year since Miazga was cleared of any wrongdoing in his work prosecuting a shocking case that contained wild stories of sex abuse against children.
Miazga faced with a malicious prosecutions lawsuit from the Klassen family, who were falsely accused of sexually assaulting children two decades ago.
But last November, the Supreme Court overturned a Saskatchewan Court of Appeal decision that agreed Miazga acted out of malice.
A lawyer from Ontario and one from Quebec were presented awards Wednesday night as well by Justice Minister Don Morgan.
