   MissionStatement:

The Art Gallery of Prince Albert engages and facilitates the development, presentation and preservation of the visual arts in a diverse and inclusive community.

•                     Objectives:

To achieve our mission by means of: a diverse exhibition and extension program and a Permanent Collection in a facility adequate to these activities.

Brief History

The Little Gallery was formed in 1976, registered its bylaws in 1978, and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1981.  The gallery has been receiving Saskatchewan Arts Board funding since 1987 which allowed the gallery to hire a permanent, full-time curator/administrator.  In 1998-99 the gallery received Canada Council operational funding for the first time.

The gallery is housed in the E. A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts building (grand opening was June of 2003), the space is made available by the Prince Albert Arts Board, a subsidiary of the City of Prince Albert.

The E. A. Rawlinson Centre for the Arts is a nine million dollar performing & visual arts complex, with the gallery component estimated at two million dollars.  With the move into the new building, the gallery changed its name to the Art Gallery of Prince Albert.

In the new building, we have three galleries; the Main Gallery (Curated exhibits), the Fringe Gallery (emerging artists, local arts organizations & guilds), and the Studio/Classroom Gallery (featuring works by students, youth and children).  The gallery spaces are completely wheelchair accessible.
