'Parklet' coming to Central Ave. outside Rock Trout Café

A unique addition to Prince Albert's downtown will soon be constructed on Central Avenue.

Prince Albert lawmakers approved an encroachment permit and the bagging of a parking meter outside the Rock Trout Café to allow for the installation of a parklet.

The most prominent piece in Council Chambers is on the East wall. The massive 8.5-foot tall oil on canvas painting depicting Sir George Simpson on his tour of inspection from Hudson’s Bay to the Pacific Coast. It was done in 1908.

Judge finds city did not give fair process in alleged illegal dumping case

A Queen’s Bench judge has ruled the City of Prince Albert denied fair process in making a decision when it decided to penalize C & D Septic following the company's alleged illegal dumping into the sanitary sewer system. The company has pleaded not guilty to the accusations.

Employee ‘misused’ word not enough for City to withhold information: privacy commissioner

The province’s privacy commissioner has determined the City of Prince Albert incorrectly applied parts of The Local Authority Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) while responding to an access to information request earlier this year.
