ManSask Long Course Swimming Provincial Championships

Over 400 swimmers took part in the competition this past weekend from 38 clubs across Saskatchewan and further afield (Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia). Five swimmers from Prince Albert Sharks swim club traveled to Saskatoon to compete in the Mansask provincial championships.

The swimmers went on to put in some fantastic performances over the weekend.

There were personal best swims from over 86% that competed.

Sophie Bilodeau outclassed the field in her individual events to gain 1st place finishes in the 200m Breaststroke and smashed the club record twice in the prelims and in the finals. Also she broke the club record in the 200 m Individual medley.

She came third in the 50 and 100 breast. Sophie is the fastest swimmers in the province in the 50, 100 and 200 Breast in this championship. Tristan Anderson-woodsworth came third in the 100 Breast with outstanding time. Alexis McDonald broke the club record in the 50 Butterfly.

Highlights from the provincial championships:

Tristan Anderson-Woodsworth

: Came third in 100 Breast, 5th in the 50 Breast and 6th in 200 Breast. Tristan selected to swim the 100 breast in the 4×100 m medley in the provincial relay representing team Saskatchewan.

Sophie Bilodeau

: Came first in the 200 Breast and Third in the 50 & 100 Breast.

She smashed the club record in the 200 Breast and 200 IM. Sophie selected to swim the 100 Breast in the 4×100 m medley in the provincial relay representing team Saskatchewan.

Alexis McDonald:

Broke the club record in the 50 Butterfly. qualified to the finals in the 50 free, 100 Back, 50 fly, 50 Back. Achieved “AA” time in 50 Fr, 50 back, 50 fly.

Mackalie Bates:

new personal time in 50 Breast.

Ava Helgason:

achieved “AA”time in the 200 IM, 50 FR, 200 Back.

We are pleased with our swimmers results and performance. The club offer a Variety of programmes to meet the kid’s potentials and ambitions not only on the competitive level but also on the recreational level.
