Kindergarten Come Read with Me program at St. Michael’s School

 St. Michael School is pleased to be offering a “Come Read With Me” program this year.  

This program is open to any interested parents who have a child in Kindergarten.   

There are 4 sessions taking place.  The first will be held on Wednesday, January 26th from 3:15 – 4:45 p.m. in the library.    The goal of the “Come Read With Me” program are:
 
 To help parents appreciate and understand their role as their child’s first and important teacher.
 
 To encourage reading as a fun and valuable activity for both parents and  children.
 
 To use children’s books to strengthen bonds and relationships.
 
 To assist parents at all levels of literacy  in helping their children develop pre-reading and reading skills.   
 
 To use children’s books to explore relevant themes and topics that relate to individual and family situations.
 
 To create support networks within the program that may lead to greater community involvement.
 
 To encourage life –long learning.
 
The “Come Read With Me” program has a 10 family limit. 

Each session includes a snack and a free book for each family to keep.
