Dark Knight Rises above expectations

Dark Knight Rises may not only be the best Batman movie of all time, it could possibly be the best super hero movie of all time. I know those are strong words but this is one very intense, and awesome movie. It is exciting from start to finish and will not disappoint any fans of the popular comic book character.

The setting for this movie is eight years after the 'Dark Knight.' Gotham City is enjoying peace time, but the apocalypse is coming and his name is Bane. Bane (Tom Hardy) could very well be the toughest, most sinister villain off all time. He is one mean dude. The other character reintroduced in this movie is Catwoman (Anne Hathaway). Unlike 'Batman Returns', Catwoman is not created, but rather she is what she is from the beginning, a very clever, not to be messed with cat burglar. Anne Hathaway does a great job in this role. She is not only sneaky and smart but very sexy too.

What I like most about this movie, is the continued focus on the characters and the story. This movie is nearly three hours long but you hardly notice it, as you get so caught up in what's happening on the screen. There are plenty of big explosions but they don't make the movie. Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) is facing his toughest battle yet. He is literally forced to rise back up after being beaten within an inch of his life. Christian Bale has given Batman a fresh new face and it is a shame that his time behind the black cowl is over.

“Dark Knight Rises” does a great job tying all three movies in the trilogy together. You won't be entirely lost if you don't watch the previous two movies, but watching them first will certainly enhance this movie. I highly recommend you go watch this movie, better yet watch it two or three times.
