What do you think?

There are many of us war babies and baby boomers, all either retired or near retirement. It is going to open up a large number of jobs.

Many people, are approaching retirement and counting the days because they hate what they do. Their reaction could well be “Anyone can have my job and good luck to them”! Others are saying “Maybe. But Canadian workers first”. Still others are saying, “I've done my bit and I deserve some retirement time before I die”.

Everyone surely has to know we need more doctors in Saskatchewan, especially in rural areas. We aren't educating nearly enough Canadian doctors to fill the positions. But look what happens when doctors emigrate here. They stay here briefly – very briefly – and then move to where the money is. You are lucky if you see the same doctor twice. Some rural areas are so desperate, they offer free housing, rent free office space and a free car.

Do you get the feeling some immigrant doctors are more interested in building a bank account somewhere warm than building a practice where frigid winds howl more than a kid getting a needle?
