Students to lead “Save Our Potash Stash” rally in front of Saskatoon City Hall

A student led potash protest Saturday afternoon is planned for downtown Saskatoon.
Mike Fornssler has decided to hold a “Save Our Potash Stash” rally in front of City Hall. He calls himself a university student concerned about the future of the province, and wants to say a loud “no” to BHP Billiton's proposed takeover of PotashCorp.
He knows his voice may not be heard all the way in Ottawa, but he feels he has to speak out.
“Worst thing that they can do is not listen to us, but worst thing that we can do is not say anything,” said Fornssler.
Fornssler says peaceful protest is a powerful tool to stop what he calls a policy for mostly negative consequences.
The federal government will decide next week whether or not to allow BHP's proposed bid.
