Oct 29, 2010 | 10:33 PM

Prince Albert SK- The Raiders fall to the Swift Current Broncos 4-3 in overtime despite holding a decisive 40-29 shot advantage.

The Prince Albert Raiders opened the first period with a devastating hit from Harrison Ruopp which he followed up with a fight against defenceman Graeme Craig from the Broncos. The Raiders fed off the momentum and at 15:52 took a 1-0 lead. Jonathan Parker made a pass to the point from the corner, to defenceman Ryan Button. Button faked the slap shot on net and made a back door pass to Sebastian Svendsen who tapped it into the open cage past goaltender Mark Firesen.

The Broncos would respond though and scored a shorthanded goal when the Raiders were unable to break out of their zone on the power play. The Raiders took a 13-4 shot advantage into the 2nd with the score tied 1-1.

The Raiders would strike again in the 2nd, scoring a power play goal at 15:05 of the period. Jonathan Parker would collect the rebound on his own shot and skate behind the Bronco net and made a quick backhand pass to Sebastian Svendsen who was on the door step and was able to beat Friesen for his 2nd of the game. The Raiders carried the 2-1 lead until 3 seconds left in the period when Reece Scarlett wristed a quick shot on net that was redirected and beat Eric Williams to tie the game at 2 heading into the 3rd.

It was the Raiders who would again take the lead after Mark McNeill made a nifty back hand pass to Igor Revenko who, from the bottom of the right faceoff circle, was able to beat Friesen high over the shoulder. It was a bouncing puck shot by defenceman Stepan Novotny on the power play that would tie the game at 3. Novotny's shot from the point deflected off the end boards and again off the back of Eric Williams at 7:43 of the 3rd period.

For the 3rd game in a row the Raiders were tied at the end of regulation and were headed into overtime. Stepan Novotny broke in the right side 2 minutes into the extra frame and wristed a shot on net that beat Williams under the arm in one he would like to have back.
