Saskatoon city council to vote on curbside recycling

Jun 13, 2011 | 1:31 PM

Saskatoon city council will have a green theme at its meeting Monday night.

Councillors will debate the idea of a mandatory curbside recycling program. Four reports will be looked at, which detail the plan to charge every home $4.24 per month for the service.

It's still unclear what company would provide the service or whether the city would be divided into quadrants so that multiple companies could bid. But one company is concerned.

In an email to News Talk Radio, Cosmopolitan Industries’ Ken Gryschuk says the outcome of the meeting will greatly impact the organization and the individuals who work there.
