Bears hat-tricking in sweep over Fire, Mintos and Titans briefs

The Prince Albert Northern Bears got hat tricks from two different players during their two-game weekend sweep over the Melville Prairie Fire.

Haley Kicia scored a hat trick in the Bears’ 5-2 victory on Saturday as part of Hockey Day in Shellbrook. Then on Sunday, Brooklyn Anderson scored a natural hat trick in the second period as the Bears went on to win 4-1 at the Kinsmen Arena.

The Bears are third in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League with 14 wins (11 in regulation) eight defeats and two overtime losses.

Mintos beat both Notre Dame clubs

The Prince Albert Mintos had a very successful trip down in Wilcox this weekend. They beat the Notre Dame Argos 2-0 on Saturday to kick it off. Spencer Welke made 28 saves for the shutout, his third of the season. Dawson Springer and Blake Duquette had the goals for the Mintos.

Then Gavin Ingram scored the OT wi­­nner as the Mintos beat the Notre Dame Hounds 6-5 in overtime. Ingram led the Mintos with a pair of goals and an assist in the game.

Titans fall to Rage

The Prince Albert Titans fell 7-1 at the Kinsmen Arena on Sunday to the West Central Rage. Jakob Tournier had the lone goal for the Titans.
