Saskatchewan’s Ackerman drops to 0-2 on second day of curling action

The second day of competition at the 2019 New Holland Canadian Junior Men’s and Women’s Curling Championships was a rough one for Saskatchewan’s Skylar Ackerman and her Moose Jaw-based rink.

Ackerman fell to Kira Brunton and her Northern Ontario rink by a score of 7-1 after nine ends. With the loss, the host team drops to 0-2 at the tournament. The Northern Ontario rink improves to 1-1 in the tournament.

Meanwhile, on the next sheet over at the Art Hauser Centre, Selena Sturway and her Alberta rink made short work of Sadie Pinksen and her Nunavut rink by a score of 14-2 after eight ends. With the win Alberta improved their record to 2-0, while Nunavut dropped to 0-2.

In the last of the women’s games, Nova Scotia’s Kaitlyn Jones and her rink improved their record to 2-0 after they beat Ontario’s Thea Coburn and her team by a score of 8-5. Ontario now sits at 0-2.
