Police investigating Christmas Day shooting

Dec 28, 2018 | 4:00 PM

There are more questions than answers following an alleged shooting Christmas Day in Prince Albert.

Parkland Ambulance has confirmed a 22-year-old woman was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Paramedics had responded around 8:45 a.m. to a residence in the 200 Block of Sixth St. E.

A woman who spoke to the victim at the hospital told paNOW the young woman said she had been shot in the leg. The victim herself has posted to Facebook, letting her friends and family know she was okay and indicated she was hoping to go home by the weekend.

According to the Prince Albert Police Service Crime Map, an aggravated assault did take place Christmas morning at the address indicated by Parkland Ambulance. A spokesperson for the police service told paNOW that as of Friday afternoon, police are investigating but no charges have been laid.
