Chiropractors donate over 18,000 socks for holiday season

Dec 16, 2018 | 11:00 AM

For the past three years the Chiropractors Association of Saskatchewan have been collecting socks for their Toasty Toes Sock Drive.

Dr. Kevin Henbid, President of the Association and Chiropractor at the South Hill Chiropractic Clinic said the process started when members of the association wanted to get involved in a holiday campaign.

After reaching out to various charitable organizations, they found out socks are one of the most requested items, yet one of the least donated.

Dr. Henbid said it’s a campaign that gets bigger and bigger.

“Our goal the first year was to get about 10,000 pairs — we did over 12,000. Last year we did 15,000 and this year we did 18,000.” Henbid said. He said they collect socks from September through November at offices around the province.

In total the association collected 18,175 pairs of socks and $1,180.

Of the amount the association gave 1,019 pairs to the Prince Albert Salvation Army.
