Dec 5, 2018 | 1:16 PM

RCMP have charged a Calgary woman with drug trafficking after receiving information about illegal activity in the northern Saskatchewan community of Pinehouse Lake.

Vanessa Andrade, 26, is charged with possession of cocaine for the purposes of trafficking, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling and possession of proceeds from crime over $5,000. Andrade was arrested at a residence in Pinehouse Lake earlier this week and is scheduled to appear in court in La Ronge on Thursday.

In a media release, RCMP said police executed a search warrant at a home in the community. About 27 grams of what police believe to be crack cocaine was seized, along with 16 grams of individually-wrapped cocaine, and 24 grams of suspected cannabis resin. The estimated value of the drugs is $4,500.

Police also confiscated about $12,000 in cash and a cellphone.
