Weapons seized after police busts

The Prince Albert Police Service arrested several suspects in two different weapon-related incidents Nov. 27.

At approximately 11:30 p.m. officers patrolling the 600 Block of Seventh Street East identified a suspect male walking outside breaching his curfew. The male suspect, along with his male companion, were both arrested and searched.

A backpack was recovered containing a sawed off rifle, ammunition and three knives.

On the second male suspect, a can of bear spray was also located.

A 22-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with nine firearm related charges and a 24-year-old male from Prince Albert is charged with eight firearm-related charges.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear before Prince Albert Provincial Court today.

Mischief

On Nov. 28 at 1:06 a.m. the Prince Albert Police Service responded to a mischief complaint at 1600 Muzzy Drive of a male suspect, wearing all black, attempting to break into vehicles. A suspect male was located around the Tefler Bay area and after a brief foot chase by patrol was successfully arrested. The male was found to be wanted on warrant for aggravated assault and arrested. Police also seized a loaded sawed off rifle that the suspect dropped while being pursued by officers.

A 21-year-old male from Hepburn Saskatchewan is charged with six firearm-related charges.

The suspect will answer to charges in Prince Albert Provincial Court today.
