Roping and Riding Club takes big step towards improvements

Nov 19, 2018 | 4:00 PM

The River Roping and Riding Club in Prince Albert hosted a successful fundraiser this weekend.

On Saturday evening the club put on the event, which featured a dinner and auction and was at full capacity.

“The first Christmas Gala in the Johnny Beaulac Arena was sold out with over 500 guests and volunteers attending,” Candice Sinitoski, who serves on the clubs board of directors, told paNOW.

The club had a goal of raising $30,000 to continue on with their Phase 2 building work.

“There are funds yet to come in but I am confident we reached or maybe surpassed our goal, “Sinitoski said.

The gala involved a dinner and both silent and live auctions as well as a 50/50 draw.

“We got support from all the local businesses,” she added.

The next phase of upgrades at the club will be for the riding arena. The current size of the facility limits the club’s ability to operate because if they host an event, lessons have to be cancelled as there is not enough room to accommodate everyone.

While the club still needs to raise more funds to finish the new facility, Sinitoski said the money raised Saturday was a very good start.
