P.A. Karate students score medals in Alberta

Three members from Prince Albert’s Kuro Tora Dojo competed last weekend in the annual Fall Open Martials Arts Tournament in Medicine Hat, and returned home with medals.
 
The tournament had divisions for ages three years old and up, and the athletes competed in four events: Open Hand Kata, Weapon Kata, Point Sparring, and Weapon Sparring.
 
Jacob Roberts, a 12-year-old blue belt, won gold in points sparring, and silver in kata and weapons sparring. Head instructor Wolfgang Manicke, took first in weapons kata and second kata. Matthias Manicke, won two gold and two silver, in his black belt division. He was also named the overall black belt grand champion.
