Marauders and Crusaders qualify for Provincials

The Prince Albert area will have some strong representation at the Saskatchewan High School Volleyball Provincials next weekend, with multiple teams qualifying from Regionals, held over the weekend.
 
Both the Senior Girls’ and Boys’ teams at St. Mary qualified. The seniors girls’ team finished second at Regionals, losing out to North Battleford in the final. The Marauders had gone 3-0 during the preliminary round. The boys’ team which was guaranteed a spot at Provincials as the host team, finished second in Warman, losing out to Carpenter High School in the final.
 
The Carlton High School Senior Girls’ team grabbed the final qualifying spot for 5A girls, beating Llloydminster in the bronze medal game. The boys’ team finished fourth.
 
The 5A boys’ tournament as mentioned above will be hosted by St. Mary Nov. 16 and Nov. 17. The girls’ tournament will be held at Holy Cross school in Saskatoon.
 
Regionals for the Senior Girls’ teams 1A to 4A were also held over the weekend. Among the local schools to qualify for provincials were Melfort and Nipawin (4A), Wakaw (3A), and Birch Hills (2A). The boys’ 1A to 4A Regionals will also take place the weekend of Nov. 16.
