P.A. opera singer claims award at national competition

An up-and-coming Prince Albert soprano has come away from the nation’s leading opera singing competition with honours.

Andrea Lett captured the Audience Choice Award at Thursday night’s Canadian Opera Company’s 2018 Ensemble Studio Competition in Toronto.

She also took a share of the CBC Music Young Artist Development prize.

Lett was among the eight finalists to take the stage at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts.

Initially123 singers were entered into the competition with the top eight selected after nationwide auditions.
