Suspect charged after man stabbed in chest on Edmonton train platform

Sep 19, 2018 | 3:45 PM

Edmonton police say people who stepped in to help a man being stabbed on a train platform during morning rush hour likely saved his life.

Officers have said the suspect did not know the 19-year-old victim.

Witnesses reported that the man was stabbed several times in the chest before bystanders pulled the attacker off him and performed first aid.

The attack Tuesday at the light rail transit system’s South Campus station was followed by a series of other random crimes, including a store robbery and a carjacking.
