Canada beats Senegal 75-56 in Women’s Basketball World Cup tuneup
ANTIBES, France — Nirra Fields had a game-high 12 points as Canada’s women’s basketball team capped a three-game exhibition series in France with a 75-56 win over Senegal on Monday.
Miranda Ayim added 10 points and eight rebounds for Canada, which finished 1-2 in its exhibition tuneup series in advance of the 2018 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup in Tenerife, Spain.
Nayo Raincock-Ekunwe also had 10 points for Canada, while Miah-Marie Langlois had eight points and a game-high seven assists.
“Overall I think it was a good tournament to prepare us to go into the World Cup,” Ayim said. “We faced very good opponents, each with a different challenge for us. We saw a lot of things we need to work on and a lot of things that are very positive.”
