Family dispute leads to arrest of three people

Sep 6, 2018 | 5:00 PM

Three people have been arrested following a family dispute in Prince Albert Wednesday evening.

According to a Prince Albert Police Service media release, officers were called to a home in the 200 Block of 25 St. W. around 8 p.m. Wednesday for a complaint of a family dispute. The release said the lone officer who responded could hear yelling coming from the back yard of the home and saw two men fighting. The officer attempted to break up the fight, but the men, and a woman, became combative. All are believed to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time. The officer used a Taser on one man, but police say he continued to be combative and resist arrest.

Additional officers were called to the scene and three people were taken into custody. One police officer suffered minor injuries.

Two men, aged 36 and 20, and a woman, aged 35, are all facing charging of assaulting a police officer in relation to the incident. They made their first court appearance Thursday in Prince Albert.
