Police charge four in connection with overnight weapons seizure

Four people are facing criminal charges after police seized a modified firearm, ammunition and other weapons in the city early Wednesday morning. 

The four were charged after officers on routine patrol spotted a man known to be on court-ordered conditions get into an SUV in the parking lot of a business in the 2600 Block of Second Avenue West. Police spoke with the man, who was sitting in the driver seat of the vehicle with three passengers. A search of the vehicle turned up a modified .22 calibre rifle, a large-capacity magazine, ammunition, a hunting knife and a sledge-hammer. 

Police say the incident happened around 3 a.m. Two men and two women ranging in age from 19 to 25 are expected to make their first court appearance in Prince Albert today.
