Roadwork at Second Avenue and 15th Street begins

The final phase of road work on Second Avenue started today. Crews will be working on the northbound lanes at Second Avenue West and the 15th Street intersection. The work is expected to take one week.
As of Monday, restrictions will be in place in the area. Second Avenue will be down to one lane both northbound and southbound, and 15th Street will be restricted to one lane going west. There will be no eastbound traffic. The city also advises that no cross-street traffic will be allowed from 16th Street, only north and south on Second Avenue West.
The left turning lanes are restricted in all directions, except eastbound on 15th Street. Large vehicles such as RVs or trailers will not be allowed to make turns eastbound on 15th Street to southbound on Second Avenue West, or west on 15th Street northbound to Second Avenue West.
City staff said the timing of traffic lights will be modified to reduce traffic congestion. Motorists are advised to watch for changes.
