The Prince Albert Astros are now one win away from a medal at the 2018 U19 Men’s Canadian Fast Pitch Championship in Napanee, Ont.

The Astros will play the Delisle Pride Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. The winner of that game will move on to the medal rounds. The Pride feature Troy Kosmynka who represented Saskatchewan and Team Canada at the WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championships in Prince Albert in July.

The Astros qualified for the playoffs in fourth place with a 6-2 record. They fell to the hosting Napanee Express 4-3 in the morning, meaning the Astros will have to go undefeated the rest of the way to win the nationals.

The Astros then beat the Belmore Sting 5-4 to keep it going. The Astros had an early 5-0 lead and were able to hold off a late Sting attack to stay alive in the tournament.
