2018 PAEX runs smoothly despite weather woes

The 2018 Prince Albert Exhibition couldn’t have gone any smoother, according to the event’s general manager.

The 2018 Exhibition was the first year Huseyin Gumus worked in his new capacity as general manager. He said he was nervous at first, but everything ran well.

“A lot of people knew what their jobs were and how to set up and how to manage,” Gumus said. “Things went pretty smooth. We didn’t have any major problems.”

There were some weather woes during the exhibition, he noted, with rain forcing the cancelation of a few events. Even still, Gumus is already busy planning for next year based on feedback he received from this year’s event. He said he appreciated all of the positive feedback and will be working to address any issues he heard about. The public will also have an opportunity to shape next year’s celebrations, he said.

“We are opening new polls on our website; that will be something new every month,” Gumus said. “We are expecting the Prince Albert public to participate in those polls.”

He said giving residents an extra chance for input will help the exhibition organizers tackle any problems which may have cropped up while giving them a chance to consider new rides or attractions.
