Nice Ring to it, four left in Northern’s championship flight

Prince Albert’s Martin Ring advanced to the semifinals of the 97^th Men’s Northern championships at the Cooke Municipal Golf Course Sunday, but needed to beat a very familiar foe to get there.

Ring defeated his son Trevor Ring on Sunday afternoon to advance. Ring will face along young hotshot from Prince Albert, Cory Sawchuk, at 6:30 a.m. in the semifinals. Sawchuk defeated Denver Grolla during the afternoon matches on Sunday. Grolla who shot a 68 on opening day.

In the other semifinal, perennial favourites Danny Klughart and Colin Coben will battle it out in the morning. The winner of both semis games will play in the finals in the afternoon.
